Introducing...

Our Beautiful baby boy Jaren Mont Macdonald! Our little Cinco de Mayo baby was born May 5th at 1:30 P.M. weighing in at 7lbs. 3oz. and 20.5 inches long! He surprised all of us by coming early, but we were happy to have him come when he did. I went to the doctor on May 4th and because of all my swelling my doctor scheduled an induction for May 11th. Although we thought we had a week, Jaren had plans of his own.  That night I started to have contractions, but I wasn't sure if they were the real thing so I told Dave to just go to bed because he had to work in the morning.  By 4 A.M. my contractions were five minutes apart and getting hard to tolerate so I woke Dave up and off to the the hospital we went.  I thought that they would probably just send us home, but once I was checked the nurse realized that I was in labor and that my blood pressure was extremely high.  They immediately started me on Magnesium to prevent seizures for the high blood pressure and started PITT to make my labor progress faster. My doctor then broke my water which showed 2+ Meconium which for a Respiratory Therapist is not exactly what you want to hear. I starting thinking of everything that could go wrong and about how other therapists that I work with would have to come in on my delivery.  Luckily when he was born everything turned out to be fine and he was a perfectly healthy baby boy. We went home two days later and then I was readmitted the next day for another long two days for high blood pressure. They finally gave me a diuretic to get rid of all the excess fluid I had and got my blood pressure under control. Although I am on 3 Meds to control my blood pressure I am finally starting to feel better and am enjoying being a mom! Jaren came just before Mother's Day and I can't think of any better gift he could have given me than to let me see his beautiful face! We want to say thanks to both our parents for all their help the last few weeks we couldn't have done it with out you! Also thanks to everyone who visited and called with your love and concern!

Almost Done!

I am 38 weeks along now and can't wait to not be pregnant anymore!  I am really starting to get anxious to see our little guy and to see my ankle bones again! I have had a lot of swelling in my legs and feet in the past few weeks and just hope that I can make it through one more week of work. We have just about finished the nursery so I thought I would post some pictures for those of you who haven't seen it!
The crib, we painted the wall behind the crib a brownish color, but the photo doesn't show the color well.
The Bedding that my mom made! She did such a good job and it turned out even better than I had pictured it!
Dave built this bookshelf, I think it turned out really cute!
My new rocker/glider!
The curtains!
The changing table, just have to hang the magnet board and get a lampshade!  All in all we are very pleased with the way the room turned out and are so thankful that we had so much help putting it all together!

25 Weeks!

Since finding out that we were having a boy I have really been struggling to find crib bedding that I actually like. It is so easy to find cute bedding for girls, but it seems like if you aren't in to cheesy characters or themes there isn't much else to choose from. I finally decided that maybe it would be easier if I just made my own bedding. Since I'm not really that crafty that really means maybe my mom could just make it! I am so lucky to have a mom who is so talented because she took on the challenge with no complaints and actually had the quilt made in only a couple of days. I just took the quilt to the quilter on Monday and she should have it done by the end of February. Then we will just have to bind the edges and make the bumper and pillows. I am so excited to see the final project! Here are a few pictures of our work in progress! Thanks Mom for all your help!!

This is a picture of the quilt top my mom made for the little Bassinet I have for my room. I love the brown Minky material it is so soft!!

Curtains that my mom also made! They are cuter hanging up, the brown tabs tie around the curtain rod. Now I just need to get started on his room so I can hang them up!

Here is the quilt top for his crib, I absolutely love it and can't wait until it is all finished!

For those of you who have been bugging me about posting a picture of how big I am getting this one is for you! This is me at 25 1/2 weeks! I feel like I am getting so huge and like I am as white as a ghost! I can't wait for spring so I can actually get a little color on my pasty white skin. I went to the doctor on Monday and he says that I am right where I need to be as far as weight gain and that everything else looks good. They are going to check another ultrasound in 3 weeks to check some fluid he had in his kidneys and I am so excited to see him now that he is getting bigger. He is constantly squirming around and kicking so much, such a crazy feeling! So other than blood work, the dreaded Diabetes test, and getting a shot for being RH- I will just be letting this little guy get bigger until my next appointment!
