Our Beautiful baby boy Jaren Mont Macdonald! Our little Cinco de Mayo baby was born May 5th at 1:30 P.M. weighing in at 7lbs. 3oz. and 20.5 inches long! He surprised all of us by coming early, but we were happy to have him come when he did. I went to the doctor on May 4th and because of all my swelling my doctor scheduled an induction for May 11th. Although we thought we had a week, Jaren had plans of his own. That night I started to have contractions, but I wasn't sure if they were the real thing so I told Dave to just go to bed because he had to work in the morning. By 4 A.M. my contractions were five minutes apart and getting hard to tolerate so I woke Dave up and off to the the hospital we went. I thought that they would probably just send us home, but once I was checked the nurse realized that I was in labor and that my blood pressure was extremely high. They immediately started me on Magnesium to prevent seizures for the high blood pressure and started PITT to make my labor progress faster. My doctor then broke my water which showed 2+ Meconium which for a Respiratory Therapist is not exactly what you want to hear. I starting thinking of everything that could go wrong and about how other therapists that I work with would have to come in on my delivery. Luckily when he was born everything turned out to be fine and he was a perfectly healthy baby boy. We went home two days later and then I was readmitted the next day for another long two days for high blood pressure. They finally gave me a diuretic to get rid of all the excess fluid I had and got my blood pressure under control. Although I am on 3 Meds to control my blood pressure I am finally starting to feel better and am enjoying being a mom! Jaren came just before Mother's Day and I can't think of any better gift he could have given me than to let me see his beautiful face! We want to say thanks to both our parents for all their help the last few weeks we couldn't have done it with out you! Also thanks to everyone who visited and called with your love and concern!
